As salam alaykum
Dear Servants of Allah:
It is with a heart filled with gratitude and appreciation to Allah
that I convey my thanks to the Muslim community of Las Vegas. Day of
Dignity was an overwhelming success. It was successful not just
because
we provided services to over 500 hundred people. It was successful not
just because their were Muslims in line, imagine Muslims in line
looking for help and realize that the service providers are there
brothers and sisters. One brother in particular, a Sudanese who heard
the brothers saying Allahu Akbar while they were setting up the tables
got out of the line and came in giving his Salaam and offered to help.
He
stayed, prayed and helped serve the people. That's just one case,
while picking up people at the Salvation Army's shelter, there was a
couple with one child in the van, the man
was a Muslim from Harlem, New York, who wanted to get married. He had
the marriage license and we performed the Nikah. Look at the kind of
blessing that Allah put in serving humanity. The blessings
continued, this year Allah blessed the Day of Dignity with the efforts
of a host of sisters that we never met, some of them we never saw yet
they provided the food for over 500 people. These sisters were like
angels, arranging and organizing, and the only reason I don't want
mention
some of the names is because we would leave out too many of them whose
name we don't know. So let it suffice that we pray Allah thank all of
you and reward all of you in the way that only he can. This event was
successful because Muslims from every Islamic Community in the valley
were present, working for the good of humanity. It was successful
because funding for this program came from all over the valley. One
sister who was disappointed at our inability to arrange a joint Eid
prayer at
Cashman Field said, "the sisters will show us how to unite", and that
is
exactly what happend. So in truth, this was a Day of Dignity not only
for those guests, the less fortunate homeless population, but it was
also a day of Dignity for the Muslims of Southern Nevada. May Allah
reward all of you for your hard work.
Your brother in faith

subhaanALLAH! this is the heritage of prophets i.e., to help and feed the needy and hungry. that's what islam is about.i just want muslims to do more of social work since it pleases ALLAH SWT and this is a great form of dawah.we have become more self centered and we need to come out of it especially brothers. may ALLAH SWT accepts everyones' efforts and put baraka in it, aameen
