The only thing I did not like is the way we Muslims are presenting ourselves in the Media. Mr Obama presented a Muslim girl with Hijab and announced that he is recognizing and supporting the right of Muslim women to wear Hijab. Why we as a Muslim are not practicing what is essential in our faith in the free country with others supporting our rights. Hopefuly next time they will find a Muslim Family that are practicing Islam better and thier 12 yrs old kids are fasting NOT only in the weekends but all Ramadan, in-shaa Allah.
I remember last year, the Review Journal made an interview with another Muslim family. I remember it was better than this one. I'll try to find the link and post it. May be Br. Usman can find it for us.

I believe there were several articles about Ramadan in the Las Vegas valley last year, here is one that I found in my email box.

OMG,
I just read the complete article and was shocked when I read the following:
"""Young Muslims typically begin participating in the yearly fast on >>>>????, but the timing varies from family to family. """"
{I do not know how they reach this conclusion. Muslims all over the world are practicing fasting from thier early childhood, 7-8 yrs old in a part-time and in many cases in full-time basis depending on the child ability and his will to fast}
Also:
"""The best age is when a person is ready to make his or her own decision" about fasting, said Dr. Aslam Abdullah, director of the Islamic Society of Nevada. "It's their free choice."
It follows that many young Muslims about Rafae's age are getting their first real taste of fasting this year."""
{{I am not sure if Dr Aslam really said that the best age to fast is when you can make your own decision because it is your free choice??
I think either they misunderstood him or changed his exact words. Needs more explainations, specially when it comes to Muslim children who believe in Allah and know that fasting is one of the pillars of Islam from thier early childhood.}}}
Thank you Usman for keeping track of like these articles. Hopefully, we can make benefit of Mr Obama speech about Ramadan and his dinner and share the links with our Muslim and Non-Muslim friends.
Salam

Correction for the first quoted text:
[[[[Young Muslims typically begin participating in the yearly fast on {{ at least a part-time basis when they hit puberty,}}??? but the timing varies from family to family.]]]
