Living Library in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This years Reading Las Vegas program will feature a Living Library as part of the annual Book Festival to be held at the Clark County Library on Saturday, April 4th, 2009. The Book Festival is a family celebration that includes a used book sale, book appraisals, book restoration and collecting workshops, mini-lectures, writing and publishing workshops, film screenings, a digital bookmobile, activities for youth and more – with an anticipated audience of over 500.
The Reading Las Vegas program regularly attracts more than 5,000 participants and its marketing campaign was recognized in 2004 with a John Cotton Dana Public Relations Award, which honors outstanding achievement in library public relations. Over 50 activities will be planned during the month throughout the entire Library District (24 library branches).
The Living Library is expected to feature between 15-20 select titles reflecting the diversity of the district. Local organizers are expecting that the event will draw a crowd, so come early to sign up for your living book.
