Shaykh Ahmad Arshad, for the last 15 years has been studying Islamic scholarship and spirituality under traditional scholars and mashaikh, For over 15 years, he has remained in close company and under guidance of the highly respected Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad, and was granted ijaza by him in (Islamic spirituality) in 2005.

Since then he has continued to deliver lectures and conduct programs to assist seekers on the path of knowledge and purification in the U.S. and around the world. Shaykh Ahmad’s weekly gatherings are held on Mondays and Thursdays morning and Sunday afternoon in Brooklyn, New York and are broadcasted online at zainabcenter.org .He also conducts regular phone classes and specializes in working with youth. Shaykh Ahmad Arshad also holds a B.S. in Computer Science from New York University, where he currently works in the IT division.

Ustadha Muallima Humera Ahmad has been a devout student of Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad for the last 17 years. She completed her Aalimah program under traditional scholars and holds various ijazah's in Quranic Tafseer and Hadith Sciences. In addition, she also holds Masters in Economics, Islamic Studies and Arabic.

She is the principal of Zainab Center, an online school of traditional Islamic scholarship, in New York which is run under the patronage of Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad. Classes and workshops on various subject areas are conducted for women, girls and kids in English and Urdu via internet and free conference call services. In addition to teaching Quranic Tajweed, Arabic Grammar, Quranic Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh (Jurisprudence) and Aqaid (Creed), the muallima also devotes her time in guiding women on the path of Islamic spirituality as well as Islamic conduct and mannerism.

Al-Maun Neighborly Needs Wellness Center

Al-Maun Neighborly Needs Wellness Center started providing free medical care near downtown Las Vegas in 2007. In early 2012, Al-Maun partnered with Southern Nevada Community Foundation and re-established the free clinic. The clinic is currently operating every 2nd and 4th Saturday. Patients are seen on a first come, first served basis, unless an appointment has been set-up. Doors open at 11 am. Age 18 and over patients are seen only.

Correction and Apology: LVMuslim.com posted an incorrect time for the OHIA Eid Prayer

Salaam,

I would like to apologize for posting the incorrect time for the Eid ul Adha prayer for OHIA. The start time was posted on the blog as 9am, but in fact it was 8am. For this error I sincerily appologize. I know atleast some blog followers missed their prayer because of this error. I received this information from a reliable source, but somehow the information was incorrect. I will make sure to be more careful in the future in order to avoid this from happening again. I pray that God accepts the intentions of the people that missed their prayer due to this error.
